Abstract

This study examines the impact of national highways and expressways on tourist flow in India, focusing on five major routes: Yamuna Expressway, Golden Quadrilateral, Mumbai-Pune Expressway, Delhi-Meerut Expressway, and Chennai-Bangalore Expressway. By analyzing tourist statistics before and after highway construction, the research identifies significant increases in tourist numbers and strong correlations between improved accessibility and tourist inflow. The findings underscore the critical role of infrastructure development in enhancing tourism, providing empirical evidence for policymakers to support continued investment in road infrastructure.
