Abstract

In the history of racket sports it can be easily noticed that the design and manufacturing material of rackets are changing them and their impact on game. It is very interesting that changes in the material and the design of rackets could possibly impact the performance of player. Some novel materials in the nanotechnology could possibly bring the desired results in the racket sports. These could change the weight, stiffness, shapes, size, speed and strength etc., of the racket which in turn might enhance the power, stability, comfort and the confidence level of the player.

Nano materials are the novel materials effecting almost all the sectors of life. Present review attempts to present how nainosized particles could bring a large change in the racket sports and have the potential to address the challenges of this field. Review also focuses on different trendy models in the market at present. Their properties, design, material and features had been discussed in it. How composites, carbon nanotubes, metals, graphite and different stuffs are fulfilling the desire of racket sports. Wood had been replaced gradually with various stuffs because of different disadvantages in it. It was felt that there should be changes in the mechanical properties of the material. Thereafter the journey of the material change starts from wood to metals, composites, fibres- glass fibres, carbon fibres, boron fibres, armid fibres, the Matrix like thermosets, thermoplastics and elastomers etc. In the player's performance the accessories, the sophisticated part also require attention like handle, gametes and grip etc.
